Dear Editor,
Boy, you people are something else. You've now printed 3 or 4 letters to the editor from readers complaining that the Dallas County Democratic Party has endorsed the candidacy for Mayor of Ed Oakley – who, number one, I don't believe sought that endorsement.
Number two, you're criticizing Mr. Oakley, via the letters you're printing, and in that way you're attempting to influence voters against him. Meanwhile, his opponent, Tom Leppert, who is obviously a Republican, has twice been endorsed in editorials by the mouthpiece of the Republican Party in Dallas – The Dallas Morning News. That endorsement has been cited in many television commercials for Mr. Leppert's well-financed campaign.
As for your most recent letter criticizing Mr. Oakley, from Dwayne Horner in the "Community Opinions" section, who says he has not "heard Tom Leppert once bring up George W. Bush in any ad or campaign stop," now there's a good joke. I mean, who is going to bring up a guy with a 20 percent approval rating (or whatever), like President Bush?
This is just one more of your blatant efforts to control everything in Dallas. And of course all the while you're painting yourselves pretty with all your recent b.s. about "sunshine". Gosh, wouldn't it be nice to have a newspaper in Dallas that wasn't run by a bunch of liars and cheats?
Thank you, John Vehon
