Subject: President Bush to the Arab world
Result: not printed

Dear Editor,

I think George W. Bush ought to go to the Arab world for a week or two - with utmost security, of course - and go around and talk to people, including warlords and the radical cleric, Muqtada al-Sadr, and other clerics. We need to get those people on our side if we want to have peace in the Middle East. The best way to try to do that would be on the personal level.

In addition, if Israeli Prime Minister Sharon's Gaza plan is a good idea - as it seems to me it is, just because it would get something going - then it might be helpful to have the President there pushing it.

Thank you, John Vehon
