Subject: Rudy Kos, Catholic priest/child Molester
Result: not printed due to limited spaceDear Editor,
There are some things I don't understand regarding former Catholic priest Rudolph "Rudy" Kos. First, why is this guy not in jail? The Dallas Morning News reported recently on another man who went to jail simply for asking a 10-year-old boy for sex, and the boy said no. Yet there is Mr. Kos apparently living free and easy in San Diego - no doubt working on the new crop of boys to molest - whose parents are probably as oblivious as the parents of those victims of Mr. Kos who are now in the courtroom.
Another mysterious thing is why has there been a complete lack of reporting on just what Mr. Kos is doing in California. I am reminded of Reverend Bailey, who went to California after allegedly strangling his wife, and it seems reporters were hounding him night and day. Whereas with Mr. Kos, it's like, who knows, who cares?
The last curious thing about this case is just how such a crime happened at all. In the course of my entire youth, when I was completely unaware of the possibility of adults molesting children - and therefore had no reason to be on guard against such things - there was one time when a man approached me for sex. I immediately took off running as fast as I could.
Whereas, with all the prolific child molestors we've heard about over the past few years - which I think there was plenty of publicity about at the time of Mr. Kos's offences - it seems that every one of them, for every child they approach, the response of almost all the many victims is like, hey, yeah, wow, let's go! It just doesn't make sense to me how there can be so many willing victims.
Thank you, John Vehon
